The Digital Phoenix Society (part of F.I.T Ltd) is a Not-for-profit Organization that aims to promote Digital Inclusiveness by helping those with mental health and disabilities with getting online and using technology.

For the past 7+ years I have been volunteering as both a Digital Champion and I.T Tutor at various organizations and in those 7+ years I have encountered many people with disabilities and mental health problems that wanted support with using the computers and the internet.

Now as you can imagine, if you are new to computing, just learning how to use the keyboard and mouse itself is difficult, but if you have a health problem on top of that, then the learning curve will be even more steep (both physically and mentally) and unfortunately many groups and organizations do not have the tools, funding or patience required to offer them support.

That’s why I created The Digital Phoenix Society because as technology progresses, so must we as a society and whilst everything slowly becomes online only (i.e. Job Searching, Council Forms, Video Games, etc...) we must improve digital inclusiveness for everyone to make sure that nobody feels like they are left behind.
